Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning. If you have never been to church before we understand it can be a bit daunting, the following is especially for you and we pray it will help put you at ease. Please be reassured that you are very welcome.

Where and When

We meet for our Sunday morning service at the Kingsway Community Centre, situated on the Kingsway Housing Estate in Quedgeley (details here).

Our service starts at 10:30am. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. There is parking available in front of the community centre or in the Kingsway Primary School car park behind the centre.

Please don’t park in the shopping centre car park opposite, as we would not want you to get a ticket!

When you arrive, you will receive a warm welcome by someone on our Welcome Team, who will be happy to answer any questions you have and point you in the right direction.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer

Our Service

The main service begins with a welcome and family news where we update the church family on what is happening in the life of the church. Then follows a time of sung worship, prayer, Bible readings and a children’s talk. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes.

If your new to coming to church, this might seem strange the first time you hear it, but it’s all part of our connecting with God. One of our leaders will then give a sermon (message) from God’s word - the Bible - that we can apply to our everyday life. We finish with a final worship song. There is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service, please ask anyone in the church.

Following the service we serve tea, coffee and biscuits, this is a great opportunity to meet people in an informal setting and ask questions if you want to. Refreshments are free.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent(s)/grown-up(s) at all times.
  • Mini Bible Rangers (3-7 years)
  • Bible Rangers (7-11 years)
  • Young people (11+ years) Stay in the service. See Youth Group tab for details of activities for young people (Youth).
Children stay with their parent(s) or grown-up(s) at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family.

At the end of the 3rd/4th song, someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your child(ren) (just follow the crowd) and register them as part of our child safety policy - all leaders and helpers are church members and DBS checked.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age, there is a friendly welcome and usually, Bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your child(ren) up as soon as the service finishes. See (Children) for more details.

Getting Connected

Grow Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups, that we call Grow Groups, allows you to make new friends, grow in your relationship with Jesus, and find support from others. Check out our Grow Groups here (Grow Groups).
